Job Description:
My client is an international investor and developer in the renewable energy space and at this time, are looking to hire a Group CFO to head their finance Team in Dubai. With an extensive portfolio of projects booked for 2022 and further, this is a great role for someone seeking growth, challenge and the opportunity to develop commercially at a leadership level in addition.
The Group CFO supports Group strategy and operations, providing key financial information in a timely manner to support key decisions and the day to day operations of the business. The role identifies risks and monitors and reports key financial KPIs on a monthly basis, including profitability, liquidity, risk, capitalisation and project value drivers. They will be responsible for the finance aspects of the project development process. The CFO works closely with the CTO function and oversees the Structured Finance team to provide the necessary financial inputs for the development process.
Responsibilities will include:
Manage and report key project commercial KPIs to CEO
Provide monthly liquidity forecast and planning, identifying key areas for action
Lead, prepare and maintain financial forecasting models
Responsible for leading the Group budgetary process, including annual budget preparation, quarterly budget reviews with the wider team, financial forecasting and EOY review
Prepare annual capital budget as part of the Group’s annual budget, including quarterly reviews in cooperation with management
Coordinate the project development budget process with teams on a project by project basis, balancing risk, liquidity and development timeline considerations whilst providing consolidated budget overviews
Management reporting: provide monthly management report with key company KPIs;
Oversee Structured Finance function
Tax structuring: keep in touch with recent developments, formulate tax strategy on Group level and work with external consultants and management to optimise investment tax structure
FX risk management: formulate and implement strategy for managing risk arising from business operations
Support the CIO in the investor onboarding process
Member of the Investment Committee, responsible for guiding the requesting team on the budgeting aspect of the request, assessing country-specific financial aspects such as Tax, FX and Exchange Controls
Education/Experience Required:
To be considered for this position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Professional Qualification such as CPA, CFA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA or MBA
Minimum of 10 years' experience in a CFO position
MUST have a minimum of 3 years experience in the renewables industry and a solid understanding of the business model and revenue structure of an IPP
Experience in IFRS and structured accounting work that meets global standards
Experience in working in a multinational and fast-paced environment
Experience in the Middle East not mandatory but of advantage
Strong analytical skills necessary
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Ability to manage multiple assignments in parallel
Strong communication and organizational skills, on all levels of management (C-level, stakeholders and direct reports)
Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Full professional proficiency in English is a must (spoken and written)
